Helping our branches grow story...
| Whispering Willow Natural Laundry Soap. Natural ingredients, HE friendly, NO fabric softener needed (ever). All temperatures- AND now we can also say it's a great pre-soak too! |
Recently I was contacted by Amity Hook-Sopko, Editor Green Child Magazine, and was asked if we'd be interested in a review of our Natural Laundry Soap (Whispering Willow Natural Laundry Soap), and also participate in a giveaway of one of our Natural Laundry Soaps here. (Hurry to enter- entering will close 2/24/12!)
Soon a package was sent to Amity with all kinds of Under the Willow goodies for her to try. THEN came the nail biting part- waiting to hear her thoughts/comments.
It didn't take long until she posted some comments on Facebook. I cut/paste the entry right from Amity's Facebook page.
Amity Hook-Sopko Carrie Garvin - yesterday on the way home from school, my little one's nose started bleeding. By the time I could pass napkins back, his sleeves were already covered. I rolled them up so he didn't have to look at it, but then realized last night at bath time that we had dried up blood, and I've never been able to get blood out of clothes. I soaked them overnight in the washer with your lavender detergent, and this morning, I can't find where the stains were. I think you just made me good at stain removal - LOL!

Let's talk lint and saving money!

Does your dryer lint tray look like this?
If not you'll be surprised the "why" it should!
Let's talk lint! Here are some handy tips not only to SAVE you money, but will keep your dryer working more efficiently.
AND who's not about saving money today?
NOTE: The dryer lint tray pictured is my own. It's over 2 years old, and still looks new.
- Remove your dryer lint tray.
- Can you see through it?
- Is it coated with a sticky film?
- Do you clean it EVERY time you dry a load of clothes, etc.?
It's amazing how many people don't realize such a simple task can save money- and lots of it!
Problem: Can't see through the lint tray- even though you've cleaned it?
If you can't see through your lint tray- even after you've cleaned the lint off- it's "over loaded" with fabric softener gunk.
Solution: Using a natural laundry soap that states NO fabric softener needed will help eliminate this "over load" of fabric softener gunk. Fabric softener ingredients do soften clothing, blankets, towels, etc.. but also leave a "coating" on everything. In time this coating not only remains on everything you dry, but builds up a sticky coating on your dryer lint tray.
Not cleaning your lint tray after every dryer use?
Think again! Every time you leave lint in your dryer lint tray, your dryer has to work harder- which costs you money! Sometimes I pause the dryer and clean out the lint tray several times- if needed. Simple. Easy. Saves money.
Under the Willow, LLC sells Whispering Willow Natural Laundry Soap- All temperatures, NO fabric softener needed, HE friendly. Scents: Cambridge Rum or Lavender Grace.
What to make your own laundry soap? It may be easier than you think. There are lots of recipes out there, but I think this one from DIY is the easiest I've seen for any beginner. Give it a try- and if you do-let me know!

Little things that make me happy...
Soap dish above is called the "Magic Magic Soap Dish"
This little thing makes me happy...
I found this handy "stick to the wall" soap dish at Lowes Home Improvement Store here. For under 5 - I may just purchase enough for everyone in the family! I'm thinking even stocking stuffers!
It claims to hold 8 lbs.- WHAT? Who would ever need 8 lbs. of soap on a soap dish? Never less, it was easy to install, easy to clean (just pull out from wall), and holds a nice size soap bar nicely.
So, it keeps the soap dry in-between uses, very inexpensive, and it works well when applied on the shower wall!
Dry soap in-between showers = less money spent on soaps!
So, what "little things" make you happy? I hope you share! Thank you for visiting.
Disclosure: I am not paid by Lowe's for this advertising- this is purely my opinion, and love of shopping for home improvements, etc. to make life easier.
